Daiwa Securities Group has a long history in Asia having lead managed the first Asian, dollar bond that was issued by the Development Bank of Singapore (DBS) to establishing the Asian dollar bond market in 1971. We established our presence in Singapore in 1972 jointly with DBS Bank by incorporating DBS-Daiwa Securities International Limited, the forerunner of our Singapore office.

We have also underwritten numerous Samurai bonds and Eurobonds issued by international organizations, governments and government-affiliated organizations in Asia including the Singapore government.

Daiwa Capital Markets Singapore Limited, is a merchant bank with an Asian Currency Unit. It is principally involved in Asian Currency Unit transations, securities brokerage and dealing, a wide array of investment banking activities and money market transactions.
